Ami Worthen and Krekel, AKA The Mad Tea Party played an enjoyable set of music in a West Asheville favorite intimate setting, the Hop West. Helped by Ami’s sister, Jennifer, on a couple of songs, the duo ran down original songs, covers and old timey string songs to the enjoyment of all present.
2011 marked the tenth anniversary of the Lexington Avenue Arts and Fun Festival. Three blocks of downtown Asheville were devoted to a variety of street performers, food and drink vendors, crafts and activities for all ages. The annual Bele Chere Festival kicked off Friday, continuing through the weekend. Generally attracting large crowds from all over WNC, Bele Chere features local, regional and national music performers, street musicians, artists and food vendors.
Shindig on the Green kicked off its 2011 season at Pack Square Park in downtown Asheville.
