Downtown After 5 has become an Asheville tradition of giving music and a street party to the people of Asheville. Always a good crowd of Friday after-work revelers in a family-friendly, outdoor pub kinda way. This week had two bands, but we caught only the 2nd one, The New Familiars.

Larry Bell, owner and founder of Bell’s Brewery in Kalamazoo, Michigan, visited the Thirsty Monk on Wednesday, January 19th. His visit was well attended and the Thirsty Monk’s upstairs taps poured all Bells to a crowded house.
