After a year hiatus, the Asheville Zombiewalk was back in force Sunday afternoon with a gathering in Ashton Park, followed by a scavenger hunt through downtown.

Mountain Moral Monday protest at Pack Square today kicked off what promises to be a series of protests throughout North Carolina while the NC legislature is in summer recess. Current estimates indicate around 10,000 participants showed up to voice their displeasure with recent state legislative decisions.

People gathered at LAAFF for food, drinks, crafts, and music. The Lexington Avenue Arts and Fun Festival was created in 2001 for the “purpose of celebrating the culture and the renaissance of Lexington Avenue.” This year’s festival was expanded to Rankin Avenue, the festival featured local Brews, local food, art and other Asheville-esque affairs.
