People gathered at LAAFF for food, drinks, crafts, and music. The Lexington Avenue Arts and Fun Festival was created in 2001 for the “purpose of celebrating the culture and the renaissance of Lexington Avenue.” This year’s festival was expanded to Rankin Avenue, the festival featured local Brews, local food, art and other Asheville-esque affairs.

  Asheville Area Arts Council sponsored a “Paint Party” at their gallery/workspace in the River Arts District May 17. More than two dozen artists worked, exchanged ideas and generally hung out in creative space over the course of the evening. Wine flowed as Crunky Brewster engineered a live music mix to move things along.
