Elevate’s Open House

Elevate, a Christian organization, offers affordable classes for the Asheville community. These classes offer everything from ballet to after school care. Each class is usually around six dollars.

On Feb. 6, Elevate hosted an open house at their church to show off the various classes they offer throughout the year.

“We just want to make a great offering to the community,” says Doreen Garris, the director of Elevate.

At the open house, the church had various arts and craft stations for the kids where they can make their own paper hats, draw some pictures, and help make cross stitches. The event also featured a face painting station along with a live sheep that had its wool made into a blanket.

“It’s kind of one of those once you see it and experience it, then you get it,” says Garris.
