Bernie Sanders Rally in Downtown Asheville

Dozens of Bernie Sanders supporters attended the “Looking for America Rally” this past Sunday in downtown Asheville. The event included a drum circle and several people dressed in costume.

Organized by WNC for Bernie Sanders, the attendees congregated at New Mountain then marched to Pack Square for a “Honk and Wave”.

According to the WNC for Bernie Sanders’ website, the organization’s is a “volunteer~based group working together to help Senator Bernie Sanders win the Democratic Primary Election and then the President of the United States.”

Bernie supporter, Rick Neumann, attended the rally with his wife. Both are originally from Vermont. Neumann said that he is familiar with the kind of work that the candidate is capable of.

“We believe in his values,”  Neumann said. “He’s been doing it for the last 30 years.”
