Viewed from above, Asheville is a city in a cul-de-sac of mountains. During the 1910’s and 2o’s the city experienced its largest growth spurt (being, at the time, the 3rd largest city in NC) and its when a lot of the buildings were constructed, usually with an Art Deco flair.
