Double-Header Win for BRRG

Both BRRG teams travelled to take on the Greenville Derby Dames at the Pavillion in Taylors, SC. The B Team, The French Broads went first and really dominated the track from the begining. Amazing performances were turned in by Jennifer “rolli cannoli”(MVP), She Wrex and Lady Rider as jammers, with Punk Rotten and Quarter PoundHer both with solid blocking jobs.

Following that, the A Team all-stars took to the track. With super-pivot Rigor Morticia out of the line-up due to medical issues, Major Jammerfal and Liquor Possi had to up their game. And they did.

The first half was not BRRG’s game, as GDD found a way to minimize the superior Asheville power by using a unique technical rules move. They would have players take knees, which nullifies the pack, and drives referees insane, apparently. Legal, but unorthodox. In the second half, coach Trey LaTrash and the team figured out how to defeat it, and they went on to victory. Tigra (MVP) was out of her cage in this one, and all over the track. Caslamity Jane and Sugar Magmaulya were, as usual, there for the big plays. The real story here was the teamwork and practice this team consistently shows. Candy Corn, head of training deserves a big bit of credit for this. Also notable was the first appearance of Boot Scootin Bully on the A Team, something which will not be a last, I predict.

Final scores French Broads 243-115, All-Stars 214-96. Next week BRRG travels to Talahasee, Fl, next home bout is Nov 19th, against Charlotte, and is dependent on Civic Center contstruction.
