Temperatures were hot and a good crowd turned out for The Big Crafty, a free and vibrant celebration of handmade crafts and wares held on Pack Square and inside the Asheville Art Museum. Local artists, crafters, musicians, food vendors and performers gathered, bazaar-style, under the banner of ‘handmade is good for the community’ and the community showed their support, clearly enjoying the atmosphere and rich array of goods on offer.

About the Photographer:
Originally hailing from Hobart, Tasmania, I changed tack and adventured to a different kind of South, relocating with my family to Asheville in November 2009. Event photography is one way of exploring my new surroundings and engaging with people in the vibrant town I now call home. You can see more photos on my Flickr page
